How to take care of your toenails?
During the winter, we tend to neglect the shape of our toenails, under the pretext that they are not visible. Despite everything, it is necessary to maintain the shape of our nails throughout the year. Through this article, the nail expert Maryton will tell you how to take care of your toenails.
To care for your toenails, it is first important to trim and file them, especially when your nails are too long. To shorten your nails, use a nail clipper. Be careful, however, not to cut your nails too short, this could contribute to the appearance of an ingrown toenail.
You can then define the shape of your nails using a nail file. It is also advisable to always file in the same direction to prevent the nail from crumbling. Next, push back your cuticles using a cuticle pusher.
Toenail care also involves applying nail polish. Indeed, if you want a little touch of color to accompany the release of your open shoes, nail polish is ideal to finish your pedicure. But before applying your varnish, remember to apply a base which will prevent the pigments from coming into direct contact with the nails and which will protect them.
Furthermore, the use of a base allows better adhesion of the varnish. Then apply 1 to 2 coats of nail polish, letting dry between each coat. Once the last coat is dry, you can apply a top coat for added shine and hold.
However, nails also need to breathe, which is not possible when they are covered in varnish. So remember to leave your nails natural from time to time to prevent them from yellowing. In addition, I recommend investing in some professional manicure and pedicure sets to care for your feet.
